The following pages present a summary of the English-language
development (ELD) standards for each domain (listing and speaking,
reading, and writing). The summary is designed to give an overview of
what students must know and be able to do as they move toward full
fluency in English. The levels through which English learners progress
are identified as beginning, intermediate, and advanced. For each ELD
standard the summary indicates the English-language arts substrand
associated with it.
